Shanks - Margaret Thompson

Mrs. Maggie Shanks, widow of Taylor Shanks, died at Terre Haute, on Saturday, from cancer. Mr. Shanks was killed in the railroad yards east in East St. Louis in February, 1900. A day or so before his death, while he and his wife were scuffling, the ligament in her left arm was injured. She neglected the injury, which caused necrosis of the bone and finally the cancer which caused her death. -- kbz
